WHO WE ARE
The California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr) is a not-for profit research institute located in La Jolla, California. Calibr is focused on innovative early stage translational research in the areas of regenerative medicine, cancer biology, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, immunology and infectious disease.

The Temporary Investigator is primarily responsible for synthesizing and characterizing small molecules as potential therapeutics. The researcher will be optimizing the potency, pharmacokinetics, safety and in vivo efficacy of potential small molecules.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Basic Qualifications:

• PhD in chemistry or compelling medicinal chemistry experience in addition to a masters or bachelors in chemistry.
• Minimum 2 years previous experience in medicinal chemistry
• Strong skills and a proven track record in synthetic organic chemistry, compound purification, and structural characterization
• Profound literature search skills, the ability to design and improve synthetic routes to support SAR studies and deliver compound in large scale in timely manner
• Highly motivated, creative, and able to maintain excellent documentation of their work
• Able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues and management teams
