Position Summary:

The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) is currently seeking a Audio/Visual – Multi-Media Specialist for its Florida campus.

The Audio/Visual – Multimedia Specialist reports to the Information Services Director and performs a wide variety of complex and specialized activities for the operation, transportation and scheduling of multi-media equipment for programs, conferences, and special events on the Florida campus. Functions in the capacity of subject matter expert pertaining to the audio/visual systems and design needs across both campuses.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Designs, plans, and implements audio visual systems for use across campus facilities.
• Operates multi-media equipment as necessary for research programs, conferences, and special events.
• Provides subject matter expertise to equipment users concerning multi-media format, equipment selection, and presentation techniques.
• Maintains a working inventory of multi-media equipment in accordance with user needs.
• Maintains working Crestron code repository for all systems.
• Implements and updates Crestron coding as need for enhancements and repairs.
• Maintains, implements and updates sound structure programming.
• Responsible for the research, selection and purchase of hardware and software related to multi-media equipment and managing capital assets.
• Coordinates preventative maintenance and repair of multi-media equipment.
• Schedules, transports, and sets up all audio-visual equipment for use by employees.
• Maintains schedules of requested audio-visual equipment and records of equipment users.
• Applies job skills and department policies and procedures to complete a wide range of difficult tasks.
• Designs new systems and plans upgrades
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Physical Requirements:

This position works in a typical office environment, but may also perform assigned duties in a laboratory environment. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, twist/turn, climb stairs and/or ladders, engage in pushing/pulling motions, and reach above, at or below shoulder level. Performs motions that require fine dexterity. Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 45 pounds. Further detail will be provided during the interview process.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
• Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical field a plus.
• 6+ years of experience working with a broad range of multi-media equipment providing related services.
• Sound structure programming experience required.
• 2+ years of Crestron programming experience preferred.
• Experience with Polycom and Symmetrix preferred.
• Proficient with Windows and Mac/OS operating systems.
• Must understand networking essentials such as routing, IP addressing, and switching.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills required.
• Expert knowledge of multi-media equipment set-up, operation, and maintenance techniques.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as video and audio editing software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Florida & Palm Beach County residents are preferred.
