Position Summary:

A research Assistant position in molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics is available for a motivated and diligent Bachelors graduate.
The laboratory uses both fission yeast and mammalian systems to address central questions in genome stability, DNA repair and disease suppression.
Will be expected to contribute to different projects in consultation with Postdoctoral researchers and PI, and will be appropriately credited in the Author list of resulting publications.

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires 1-3 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 0-2 years experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training will be given as needed, but prior experience in the following is a plus.

  • Proficiency in DNA cloning, PCR, site-directed mutagenesis
  • Bacterial transformation
  • Protein analysis including purification and western blotting
  • Mammalian cell transfection and culture
  • Experience with microscopy
Compensation: $18.09- 22.58 per hour
