Position Title Research Technician
Position Summary:

The Scripps Research Institute is currently seeking a Research Technician for its Florida facility. The selected candidate will assist with a variety of tasks associated with the development of vaccine for HIV-1. These include cell culture, flow cytometry, DNA modification and preparation, transfection, ELISA assays, and handling of primary B cells. Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as needed.

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and up to one (1) year of related experience. Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

A master’s degree in a relevant field would be a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Florida & Palm Beach County residents are preferred.

Candidates with at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in biological sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience are preferred. An interest in microbiology or immunology is a plus. The position also requires strong organizational skills, an ability to learn new procedures and the principles behind them, and the ability to work closely with others.
